Mattex Doodle Campaign

When Mattex tasked us with creating a unique and memorable campaign to promote their growing sewer and plumbing services, we knew it was going to be a challenge. You see, problems such as clogged drains and broken sewer lines aren’t pretty. We knew we wanted to show the “ugly side” of homeowner hassles that every homeowner could relate to but in a friendly and pleasing manner.  The campaign also had to work seamlessly across all media platforms, from television to print and digital.

The solution was to use hand-drawn “doodles” over everyday home scenes. We created a series of animations and illustrated imagery, then developed ads and collateral to work across all media platforms—from television and digital media to traditional print and billboards. We then expanded the concept to all of their service verticals, such as HVAC and electrical service.
